SEEDING AND CULTIVATING INTEREST IN THE FUTURE OF FOOD
Founded by Carole Bamford in 2007, the Daylesford Foundation enables children and young people to learn, to enjoy, to connect and to engage with the principles and practices of feeding ourselves organically and sustainably. We promote the development and advancement of projects focussed on food, growing and farming, specifically for the younger generation.
In 2012 a platform was put in place which aimed to support high-quality projects with a long-term impact and influence in the future of food and our countryside. The Daylesford Foundation did this by making grant funding available to organisations aligned with its principles and goals.
As the Grants Programme matured the Trustees and Grants Board worked with many charitable organisations to identify a specific area of work that required dedication and extra support. In November 2015 the Daylesford Foundation launced Agricology with a collaboration of the UK’s leading agriculture organisations and charities. To this day, Agricology remains the Daylesford Foundation’s primary interest.
