The festive season is now behind and our visitors have taken the last of the chestnuts to roast at home. We’re now starting to look forward to the growing seasons ahead, and whilst it’s still a relatively quiet time in greenhouses across the land, At-Bristol is keen to keep the focus on growth.

We are encouraging all of our visitors to start off the new year by getting their hands into the soil by planting in the greenhouse. January to March is the perfect time to sow ‘alpine’ or ‘woodland’ strawberries to enjoy succulent summer treats.

Successful sowing and growing is key to enjoying a lifelong love affair with gardening and seasonal produce and we’ve been helping visitors read and use the back of a seed packet, learning what condition seeds need to grow and how we can help them to germinate faster by creating mini greenhouses.
